Former Kenya Premier League champions Sofapaka held their first training session in Luanda on Wednesday morning as they prepare for their first leg Confederations Cup clash against AS Aviacao.
General manager Jimmy Ambajo told SuperSport.com that the squad of 19 players and officials which had departed Nairobi on Tuesday morning had arrived safely in the Angolan capital but opted to rest for after the four hour flight.
“The players were too tired after the trip but this morning (Wednesday), we held a rigorous training session and we are set to hold another one in the evening,” He said.
“We have been received well and are satisfied with the facilities accorded to us especially the hotel and though the pitch is way out town, we are ok and we are ready for the match. The team is in high spirits and looking forward to facing Aviacao.”
