Serbian Bogdan Korak will make his debut as Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s new coach with a simple brief: to stop a run of three defeats.
Bogdan has penned a two-year contract with the club that prides itself on being the biggest in Ghana but are reeling under pressure following a run of poor results that has seen them plummet from the top three to 10th in the Glo Premier League.
New Edubiase are the visitors on Sunday and the Serbian will be hoping to end that bad run of results, which stretches back to a 2-3 defeat at the hands of King Faisal. The match will be broadcast on SuperSport 9. New Edubiase are just one point ahead of Kotoko but as we have often seen this season, teams know how to raise their game.
Korak, who only began working at Kotoko on Monday, will be hoping his players can raise their game considerably. He claimed they were short of match fitness and aggression after seeing them lose at Aduana Stars and has hinted he will reduce the number of players on the payroll considerably.
Those players will start battling for their places beginning on Sunday and you can see that in a delayed broadcast on SuperSport 9.
The live game comes from Obuasi where David Duncan is battling hard to keep the three-time premier league champions AshantiGold within touch of the league leaders. They are five points off the pace in sixth place but their performances this season have been inconsistent and fan disenchantment is growing. They will be hoping King Faisal, who have blown hot and cold, will not turn up for the party at the Len Clay Stadium in their best shape.
That game is live on SuperSport 9 at 6.15PM.
