Imo state FA chairman Amanze Uchegbulam is optimistic the current management of Heartland FC, Owerri headed by Fan Ndubuoke will succeed in its assignment to turn the fortune of the club around for the best.
Uchegbulam who said the management is on a positive path never trodden by any past management of the club, told SuperSport.com in Lagos that as landlord of the Owerri based club the FA will give the club all necessary assistance to succeed.
“Fan Ndubuoke is quite an experienced man; he was an FA chairman before so he knows what to do.
“He just paid me a courtesy call, the first time it is happening in Imo state when Heartland management considers the FA important to be paid a courtesy call.
“It is actually a good move and I commend him. We will give him all the supports and every other thing we could to ensure he succeeds.”
The former first vice president of the Nigeria Football Federation, who said Heartland is in good hands to achieve its dream as a professional club, however is upbeat that the 2009 Caf Champions League finalist will pick continental ticket at the end of the 2010/2011 premier league.
“I think for once the club has shown the desire to return to the path of a thorough professional club. The changes going on are necessary and I see the club finishing well within the bracket that will give them continental ticket,” he said.
